National Junior Honor Society
Wall Intermediate School Chapter
The Wall Intermediate School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is built upon the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Our mission is to inspire students to achieve academic excellence, develop strong leadership skills, serve others with compassion, and grow into responsible young citizens.
Eligibility
Students become eligible to apply for NJHS in 8th grade if they meet the academic requirement for core subjects. Letters are typically mailed to eligible students in September.
The core average is determined by calculating every marking period grade in the following subjects from 6th and 7th grade:

English Language Arts (4 grades each year)

Math (4 grades each year)

Science (2–4 grades each year, depending on placement)

Social Studies (2–4 grades each year, depending on placement)
Academic Requirements

Current 7th grade students must maintain a 95 non-rounded average.

Current 6th grade students must maintain a 95 non-rounded average.
Club Activities & Service
NJHS members at Wall Intermediate School are active leaders both within the school and in the community. Throughout the year, students participate in school-wide service projects and extend their commitment to service beyond the classroom.
Past initiatives have included:

Food drives to support local food banks

Fundraisers for Mission Snowflake

Collections for the Monmouth County SPCA
By joining NJHS, students have the opportunity to make a lasting difference while building character and leadership skills that will benefit them for years to come.
