Welcome to Math Class!

I am so excited for the 2025/26 school year at Wall Intermediate School! I have a true passion for teaching and a love for mathematics that I can't wait to share with my students!

Here is some information so you can get to know me:

-College: I graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2015 with a Master of Arts in Teaching and in 2014, I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics.

-Student Teaching: I completed my student teaching in 7th grade mathematics in Trumbull, CT.

-Before coming to Wall Township 8 years ago, I taught for 3 years in Florence, NJ. During this time, I taught both 7th and 8th grade mathematics.

-I have two awesome kids at home, they are 2 and 3 years old. I love spending time with my family :)

Extra help is offered weekly - every Wednesday after school. Students must sign up using the Form posted in Google Classroom (under the Classwork tab) by 8pm the night before.

All detailed course information and math resources are posted on Google Classroom. Students should visit Google Classroom daily for objectives, assignments, notes and important announcements. Parents are encouraged to accept the invitation for the Google Classroom summary email. Please note, Genesis will always be the most up to date resource for grades and assignments.

-Calculator for Math 7: 4 function calculator (available in class, recommended to have your own)
-Calculator for Algebra: TI-84+ Graphing Calculator (available in class)

Math 7

Using the Desmos Amplify program, we will be covering a wide variety of topics in Math 7, including:

Letter to Parents

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am so excited to begin this school year as your student's 7th grade math teacher! We will be covering a wide variety of topics this year. Please see the "Course Overview" section of my website for more details.

I have planned many fun and enriching activities that incorporate technology to keep your learner engaged. My goal is to have students apply each concept to the real world so they develop an understanding of the material.

I will be in my classroom for extra help every Wednesday after school for any students that wish to attend. They should let me know ahead of time if they would like to stay. I have posted a Google Form in Google Classroom that must be completed by 8pm on the Tuesday prior.

Homework will be assigned throughout the week as it is imperative in mathematics that students are practicing each skill. There are many ways you can support your learner at home, including:

-Checking assignments to see that they are completed with a clear answer

-Asking students to explain how they solved a problem or to summarize their notes for you

-Having students review their notes each night

-Encouraging students to share with you what they learned in class and how it relates to their everyday life
