Grading Categories

Major Assessments and Assignments:   50%
This can include, but is not limited to Tests and Projects.

Minor Assessments and Assignments:   30%
This can include, but is not limited to Quizzes, Check - Ups, and Labs.

Independent Assignments:   20%
This can include, but is not limited to Classwork, Google forms, Exit tickets, and Homework.

Course of Study

OpenSciEd is a program where students learn science through discovery.

Curriculum is phenomena-based and centers on student-led questioning, investigating, and problem-solving, with teachers supporting students as learning facilitators.

• Folder
• We will be using the Chromebook AND writing on paper throughout the class. Please come prepared with a PEN or PENCIL. 
• You will need to keep the papers given out in class for future use and reference. Keep them neat and organized in a FOLDER. 

We often do creative assignments that require some art supplies. I offer a classroom variety. You are welcome to use my classroom supplies. HOWEVER, if you prefer your own colored pencils or markers, bring them in a pencil bag or case. You can even store them in our classroom.
